Scimitar Oryx
Scimitar Oryx

The beautiful white and rust-colored Oryx once roamed Northern Africa in large numbers. Today, they roam the game ranches and hunting preserves of the Lone Star State. Despite their light-colored coats, oryx can be difficult to find in the thick Texas brush. Often, you’ll only catch a glimpse of white movement or their long slender horns moving above the shrubbery before this medium sized antelope bolts to escape danger. Their impressive, curved horns with distinct markings create a beautiful trophy. Since Oryx are very wary, getting in close for a shot without being spotted by watchful eyes can be difficult. The Oryx keeps their horns year-round, which makes for a great hunt any time of the year.
