Red Stag

The Red Deer is the fourth largest deer species. The stags (males) generally range from 350 – 530 lbs. and can gain as much as 500% of their weight in the summer months. The Red Stags can grow magnificent antlers, with multiple, grandiose points. A beauty to behold, these animals make highly sought-after trophies! Even the hinds (females) are valued for the meat (most venison served in restaurants is red deer meat). As a non-domestic deer, the Red Deer can be hunted all year but the autumn and winter months their antlers are hardened and without velvet.
